Booking a Courier to Japan

Japan is classed as the economic powerhouse of Asia. The country is constantly on the cutting edge of new technologies, personal wealth is generally high, and it has an outlook that welcomes businesses from all over the world.

Here at Transglobal Express we offer parcel delivery services to Japan from top carriers such as DHL, UPS and TNT at a fraction of the usual cost. We have services suitable for personal effects, business deliveries as well as options for pallets and documents.

Before booking your courier to Japan it is recommended that you check a few things before choosing the service right for you.

Customs Information for Japan

As Japan is outside of the EU, your goods will be required to go through customs clearance. We will generate your customs invoice for you which you will need to print off, alongside your shipping labels and a manifest for proof of collection.

In the booking process, you will need to ensure to include accurate, detailed descriptions of your goods. This will help with customs clearance and prevent any unnecessary delays. You can find more information here, and on the Japan Customs Website, where you can view customs by region.

Dangerous, Hazardous & Restricted Items

When shipping goods abroad, there are certain items that you are unable to send at all, and some are classed as restricted. There are also items that are labelled as No Compensation Items where you can send but we cannot offer any standard liability or insurance cover for damage. You can find more information about these items here.

Transit Times to Japan

Even though the Japan is a good distance from the UK, we can offer express services that usually take 2-3 days. There are also cheaper economy services that normally take 4-5 days. It is worth noting though that deliveries to or from remote areas may require additional time.

If you would like to get a better idea of transit time, you can use our carrier-specific transit time calculator.
