FedEx opens freight forwarding gateway in Chicago

Serving as an air and sea Gateway with expanded distribution services

FedEx Trade Networks has opened its new Chicago, Ill. gateway office, as part of a plan to enhance the Company’s North American infrastructure to facilitate global expansion. The office will provide expanded services to customers, including a full portfolio of freight forwarding, customs brokerage and distribution solutions.

The FedEx Trade Networks Chicago office, located at 1101 Busse Road, Elk Grove Village, has more than 9,662 m2 of space, with more than 7,897 m2 dedicated to distribution, and is strategically located with easy access to Chicago O'Hare International airport and intermodal rail facilities.

The office's proximity to the airport and rail yards, and onsite warehouse and distribution capabilities, enables the FedEx Trade Networks Chicago office to serve as a gateway to support the end-to-end supply chain needs of the Company's freight forwarding and customs brokerage customers. In utilising a gateway operating model in Chicago, the Company can provide highly efficient and cost effective entry/exit point solutions for consolidated, heavy weight, international cargo shipments.
