Yesterday, the UPS Foundation announced that it is going to give 120 grants worth $ 6 million to national and international NGOs supporting a wide range of different programmes. Behind this initiative lies the parcel express company’s aim to support diversity and diverse communities around the globe.

Moreover, the NGOs receiving the grant have been carefully selected by the UPS Foundation. Amongst others, UPS is going to support wounded veterans, women and girls, culturally distinct ethical groups such as Native American citizens and disabled persons.
“Supporting diversity is the largest area of our funding. We have long sought to help bridge opportunity gaps in areas like education, leadership, mentorship and advocacy”, said Ken Sternad, the UPS Foundation president.
Beyond that, the express parcel delivery and logistics company hopes to improve the lives of many disadvantaged and create new educational and employment opportunities.

The selected non-profit organisations and community groups include:
  • the National Urban League
  • 100 Black Men of America
  • Native American students of the American Indian College Fund and Brigham Young University
  • as well as the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
