Sending a parcel to Italy with Transglobal
Express is simple, however before booking your parcel delivery to
Italy, we would always advise to check important information about sending a
parcel there.
Dangerous, Hazardous & Prohibited Items
Before sending anything abroad, you will
need to check what items are classed as Dangerous, Hazardous & Prohibited
items. If you do send something that falls in to these categories, you could
end up with a fine of £100. You can find a list of these items here.
We also recommend checking the policy of your chosen carrier as further
restrictions may apply. You can find details on our carrier’s own restrictions
specific to Italy on this
page.
Customs Advice
As the UK and Italy are still part of the
EU, customs clearance is not needed. However, security checks will still be
carried out. It is important that all documents required for your parcel
delivery to Italy are completed accurately to avoid any problems or delays.
Once you have completed your booking, we will generate your documents for you
ready to print off and complete.
It is also worth knowing that VAT is
payable on all carriage charges for EU shipments.
Transit Times to Italy
It could be possible that your parcel to
Italy needs to be delivered by a certain date. Transit times from the UK to
Italy are generally one day with an express service, and at least three days
with cheaper economy services. Some regions of Italy are regarded as “remote”
which may require additional transit time.
If you would like to get a more accurate
idea of a transit time for your parcel, please use one of our transit
time calculators using your postcodes. It is worth noting that whilst
enjoying a very high success rate, we can never guarantee transit times due to
issues such as local bank holidays, adverse weather conditions and potential
customs delays.
